Election Day; Trauma-Informed Therapy For Systemic Racism; Rethreaded

As Americans prepare to choose the next President of the United States, Florida voters are uniquely situated to determine the outcome. 

Jason Altmire, a former congressman from the Pittsburgh area, is now a healthcare professional living in Ponte Vedra. He authored the 2017 book Dead Center, which explores the causes of political polarization in America. While in office, Altmire was rated by the nonpartisan National Journal to have the most centrist voting record in the House of Representatives. He joined us on this Election Day with his thoughts on Florida’s - and Pennsylvania’s - weight in the presidential contest.

Trauma-Informed Therapy For Systemic Racism

Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare is the only organization of its kind in Florida. The center, located in Yulee, was chosen for a national program attempting to heal some of the nation’s wounds.

As such, it will be participating in specialized training to help provide behavioral healthcare to patients who have experienced trauma that goes hand in hand with systemic racism.
