The Florida Department of Transportation is expanding its Road Ranger program to Interstate 95 in Nassau County.
The Road Ranger service helps motorists in need by clearing traffic lanes after minor accidents, putting a few gallons of gas in an empty tank, changing flat tires and doing other small, emergency repairs.
Road Rangers will begin patrolling I-95 in Nassau County on Monday, June 25.
Plans are to expand the program even further this year to include I-75 between Gainesville and the Florida-Georgia Line and to Interstate 10 between Jacksonville and Madison.
Motorists who need Road Ranger assistance can dial star-F-H-P on their cell phones.
