Prime spots along the pond at RV City next to WJCT were already taken Tuesday as fans start arriving for Saturday's annual Georgia-Florida game.

RV City is filling up fast as fans of the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs start arriving in Jacksonville for Saturday’s annual game at TIAA Bank Field.

The city and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office say advance parking at the sports complex and boat docking at Metropolitan Park is already sold out.

JSO is reminding out-of-town visitors and locals that golf carts and motorized scooters that are not street-legal will not be permitted in the Sports Complex, surrounding parking lots, or streets leading to the Jacksonville Landing, although they may be a common sight in the off-street RV areas commonly referred to as RV City.

The Sheriff’s Office has issued the following parking tips and information:

  • Fans without pre-paid parking passes should use general parking. Lots open at 8 a.m. and JSO anticipates that general public parking in the Sports Complex area will fill up five hours prior to the 3:30 kickoff. Private lots near the stadium fill up just as fast.
  • ARRIVE EARLY. The stadium gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s focus will shift to pedestrian traffic at that time. Expect traffic delays.
  • Follow the sign board directions on display on roadways throughout the city
  • Lanes on Gator Bowl Boulevard and Bay Street will be reversed during the third quarter. All traffic will flow away from the stadium after that.

More information about parking, area events and the annual game between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia is available on the city of Jacksonville’s Florida-Georgia page.
