Fourth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Mark Mahon ordered courts in Clay, Duval and Nassau counties closed Tuesday after the Monday Labor Day holiday because of Hurricane Dorian.
A decision about further closing in the 4th Circuit will be made as the effects of the storm become known, said Trial Court Administrator Joe Stelma, WJCT News partner the Jacksonville Daily Record reported on Friday.

The state Supreme Court closed the courts in St. Johns County on Tuesday and Wednesday after the Labor Day holiday because of the hurricane.
After the storm passes, orders will be issued by the Court retroactively extending deadlines in affected areas.
The Duval County Clerk of Courts offices at the courthouse and the Beaches branch also will be closed on Tuesday.
