The City of St. Augustine announced Thursday it’s cancelling several upcoming events as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus.
The list includes the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival and Parade; the Lions Seafood Festival; and Rotary’s Rhythm and Ribs Festival.
The free park-and-ride spring shuttle service has also been shut down.
That list may grow as city officials say they plan to evaluate all permitted events and large gatherings scheduled through April 1.
St. Johns County, which includes St. Augustine, has its first documented COVID-19 case. A 63-year-old New York man who was riding through the county on his way to Bike Week in Daytona Beach tested positive.
