To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry announced the closure of all city parks on March 13, including Alexandria Oaks Park in the 32207 ZIP code.

Updated: Some of the numbers in this story were updated on Sunday, April 5.

A Friday update to the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 Dashboard allows people to view the number of cases in each ZIP code.

According to the dashboard, in the 32207 ZIP code, which includes San Marco, St. Nicholas, Miramar, Empire Point, Pine Forest, part of Lakewood and Spring Glen, there were 55 confirmed cases as of the April 5 evening update.  The cases in the ZIP code accounted for 13.7% of Duval County’s 401 cases as of Sunday evening.

Three more ZIP codes in Duval County had more than 20 confirmed cases. The ZIP code 32256, which includes Baymeadows and ends just north of Nocatee, had 32 confirmed cases.

32250, which includes Jacksonville Beach, had 26 confirmed cases.

Overall, 14 of the 35 Duval County ZIP codes listed on the dashboard had more than 10 confirmed cases as of Saturday. Numbers from the state are updated twice daily.

The number of cases in a specific ZIP code is meant to be based on a person's place of residence, not where they are tested or hospitalized. The Florida Health Department said on its website some of the numbers may be incorrectly assigned to the ZIP code of a hospital at first, but those are being reassigned.

St. Johns County had no ZIP code-level data available as of Saturday morning.
