UPS is the latest in a string of Jacksonville area employers to announce hiring plans or job fairs.
UPS said Wednesday it expects to hire approximately 100 permanent part-time employees in the Jacksonville area for package handling jobs.
Although the jobs are part-time, UPS says the positions do offer health care, pension and tuition benefits, also noting that more than half of its current full-time drivers and management team started out as part-time employees.
“We’re looking for people to join our team here in the Jacksonville area, and to possibly start a great career at UPS,” said UPS Director of Human Resources Yanina Hernandez-Bynum in an email sent to WJCT News.
Hourly pay at UPS starts as high as $17 depending on the location, shift and position, with annual raises.
The new employees willwork at the UPS hub at 4255 James E. Casey Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32219.
