Because of the ongoing COVID-19 surge, Ascension St. Vincent's announced restricted visitation at its three Jacksonville-area hospitals.

"The health and safety of our patients, associates and visitors are our top priorities," spokesman Kyle Sieg said Thursday, according to WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union.

But anyone who needs medical care should not delay coming to Ascension St. Vincent's hospitals in Jacksonville's Riverside and Southside communities and in Clay County and to its emergency rooms throughout the area.

"Our hospitals and emergency rooms remain open and ready to safely provide care to those who need it," Sieg said.

The specifics of the new rules are in an expanded version of this story at Jacksonville.com.
