Neptune Beach Police Confirm Car In Weekend Jax Beach Hit-And-Run In Police Possession

Neptune Beach Assistant Police Chief Tony Carillo has confirmed that Jacksonville Beach Police have taken possession of a black Mercedes thought to have been involved in a fatal hit and run over the Fourth of July weekend.The car was found at a Neptune Beach residence earlier this week and carted off to be processed. Carillo spoke to WJCT News Thursday afternoon.

Jacksonville Beach police won’t comment on the information saying it’s part of an ongoing investigation.
 
25-year old Daniel Stein was hit and killed on North 13th Avenue at Third Street in Jacksonville Beach in the early hours of July 5.
 
Under a new Florida law, a person convicted of a fatal hit and run faces a mandatory minimum of four years in prison.
