Conservationists say that Florida lawmakers are not following the intent of the Water and Land Conservation Amendment. Aliki Moncrief, executive director of Florida's Water and Land Legacy says the Florida Legislature is not budgeting enough money to buy land as the amendment mandates.
Republican Jimmy Holderfield endorsed Democrat Ken Jefferson for Jacksonville's Sheriff. Holderfield, who ran against Jefferson and a slew of other candidates in the first election last month, said that he was "reaching across party lines" to endorse the candidate he felt could best unify the organization.

The Florida Supreme Court ruled in favor of the family of a high-school soccer player who received a brain injury after collapsing on the field during a game. Two lower courts had dismissed the family's case because it did not meet a standard of negligence that would allow the lawsuit against the school district.
Crystal Cathedral mega-church pastor, Rev. Robert Shuller, died at 88-years-old. Shuller, host of the weekly religious television show 'Hour Of Power' was diagnosed with cancer in 2013.
