First Read: Rep. Brown Fights Proposal To Change District 5

Florida Congresswoman Corrine Brown went to federal court Thursday to try to block a proposal that would radically redraw her district, just days before a special legislative session is set to begin. St. Johns County police arrested a pawn shop owner Thursday night after deputies seized thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen items in a raid last month. Mourners in Ferguson, Mo. marked one year since police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown with a moment of silence on Sunday, gathering in remembrance and protest of the shooting.
