Danielle Freeman
Danielle Freeman has worked as a weekend host at WUWF since 2006 and a part time news reporter since 2013. Danielle is a graduate of the University of West Florida with a B.A. in Communication Arts with a specialization in Broadcast Journalism and a Minor in Public Administration.
Danielle cut her journalism “chops” while attending the University of West Florida. She worked as a contributing writer for the UWF newspaper, The Voyager, a documentary film staff member on the “Tristan de Luna and The Emanuel Point Shipwreck Documentary” Parts I II and III, and worked as a television staff member for WUWF-TV on a variety of programs, including working behind the scenes on “Inside UWF” with co-host and current WUWF news director Sandra Averhart, while also lending her voice to “Radio Live” television spots produced by WUWF-TV.
Danielle grew up in a military family. Her father is retired from the United States Army. Danielle has lived all over the place during her life including overseas several times as well as in her home state of California. She currently resides in Shalimar, FL with her husband Greg Freeman, a Shalimar native, and their daughter Abigail. In her spare time she volunteers for several organizations, including her daughter Abby’s tennis team and two soccer teams, the Art in Action program at Shalimar Elementary and as a children’s book reader for Sight Line.
