  • The Duval County School Board has filed a legal challenge over state rules prohibiting mask restrictions for students.
  • Jacksonville City Council had nearly unlimited discretion to hand out millions in COVID relief funds to organizations across the city. However, a closer look at this process has found several red flags.
  • Three members of the Jacksonville City Council released statements in support of removing Springfield Park’s Confederate monument. The removal could cost upward of $1 million.
  • Jaguars owner Shad Khan called Urban Meyer’s actions over the weekend inexcusable after two embarrassing videos surfaced. Meyer said he never considered resigning as the team’s head coach. 
  • Three city councilors advanced a bill offering a $114 million public financing package to build Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s Four Seasons Hotel and Residences.
  • JASMYN’s hosts their 15th annual Coming Out Day Breakfast next week. The event brings together the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to celebrate living authentically.

A cohort of Jacksonville women is taking their businesses to the next level with the help of the Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell University.
