A state Senate health committee is holding its first hearing to confirm Dr. Joseph Ladapo as Florida’s surgeon general. A coalition of physicians say he’s unqualified to hold the post based on numerous controversies around his handling of COVID-19.

Late Bloomers Garden Club of Jacksonville announced that Carlton Ward Jr. is being awarded an honorary membership by the Garden Club of America. He is a conservation photographer, filmmaker and activist for leading the fight to save the Florida Wildlife Corridor and the Florida panther.

Camden County, Georgia, is moving forward with the purchase of 4,000 acres for the purpose of developing a spaceport. Residents are speaking up against these efforts.
