Students across town and the country are heading back to school today.
So, we marked the back to school period by welcoming one of the world’s leading voices on education innovation, Dr. Tony Wagner. Wagner is a bestselling author and senior research fellow at the Learning Policy Institute, and a former expert-in-residence at the Harvard Innovation Lab. He will be speaking in Jacksonville next month.
Jacksonville Public Education Fund President Rachel Tutwiler Fortune also joined the conversation.
Author Maggie Fitzroy
Local author Maggie Fitzroy, a former journalist for The Florida Times-Union, just published her second novel. It’s a historical romance called Beacon Beach, which takes place in 1886 in America’s first seaside resort, Cape May, New Jersey. She joined us for a look inside the book, which she describes as "Downton-Abbey meets the beach."
What do you really think of Jacksonville when you consider our city's challenges, successes, and reputation?
You can share your thoughts at a PB&J Jam Session this week. The event's Organizer, Denise Reagan, joined us with more.
