9/16/19: You Should Run; Protecting Against Youth Concussions; Cole Pepper

Bill Bortzfield/WJCT News

The fight over abortion rights is heating up around the country. And, as several states around the country are making it harder for women to obtain an abortion, more women are getting involved in the issue and being recruited to run for office.

The organization Ruth’s List is holding a training event this month in Jacksonville for women. It’s called You Should Run. Tracye Polson, a recent candidate for office who she serves on the Ruth’s List Victory Council; and Ruth’s List Florida CEO Pam Goodman, joined us with more information.

Play It, Protect It

Many parents have been faced with the struggle of trying to protect their children, while also letting them play sports like football.

This led Anne-Marie Tucker, the President & Founder of The Tony Meduri TBI Fund, Inc., to create the organization’s new “Play It, Protect It” campaign to guard against youth concussions. Tucker joined us to tell us more about it.

Cole Pepper

Cole Pepper joined us to review the Jaguars’ 12-13 Sunday loss to the Texans along with Gardner Minshew’s debut. Pepper also previewed Thursday’s game against the Titans.
