Immigration Law; MOO-VE It 5K; Wireless Pacemaker; Cole Pepper

Monday, February 17, on First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross we discussed changes in immigration law.

The Trump administration announced a new process to apply for H1-B visas. Giselle Carson, an immigration expert and attorney at Marks Gray, joined us to explain how the changes will affect immigrants.

MOO-VE IT 5K

The MOO-VE IT 5K takes place this Saturday, Feb. 22. The run benefits the Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS). JAMS is a creative youth development organization that provides arts education and leadership development to students grades 3-10 from underserved communities in Jacksonville. JAMS Executive Director Jason Peoples joined us.

Wireless Pacemaker

Dr. Saumil Oza, chief of cardiology at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, is leading a trial to test the first wireless pacemaker, called the WiSE CRT System.The pacemaker is installed in the left ventricle of the heart in cardiac patients who don’t respond to traditional treatment. The pacemaker could be lifesaving.
