The city of Jacksonville Beach announced Wednesday its city attorney has been arrested.

Although the city didn’t name the attorney in its news release,  Chris Ambrosio was listed as the city’s attorney on the city’s website Wednesday morning.

WJCT News partner News4Jax reported an Atlantic Beach Police Department report showed Ambrosio, 48, was booked into the Duval County jail and accused of lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor.

“While we cannot comment on the details of the case or investigation, we are working to ensure continuity of legal services for our city,” the city wrote.

News4Jax reported court records showed the alleged victim is between 12 and 16 years old.

The Jacksonville Beach City Council will be holding a special meeting Thursday at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the matter.

Bill Bortzfield can be reached at bbortzfield@wjct.org or on Twitter at @BortzInJax.

Bill joined WJCT News in September of 2017 from The Florida Times-Union, where he served in a variety of multimedia journalism positions.
