Damage assessment workers are scouring Tallahassee neighborhoods for destruction. The amount of relief support Tallahassee will receive is based on these reports.

“Well, we’re going to look to see if there’s any damage to homes basically from the roadway and we’ll make note of that information into our digital unit and that information is synced up with the emergency management GIS database,” says Culpepper.
He goes onto explain damage categorization.
“There’s several. One may be inaccessible meaning we can’t actually get to the structure or see it because it’s blocked. You have minor, moderate, and major."
Typically, if a home is livable than the damage is not major. Similar crews are fanning out across the region. So when you see random cars and trucks driving through your neighborhood, it might be one of these workers.
Meanwhile, National Guardsmen are staged at Florida A&M University in preparation for deployment across the panhandle.
