A judge denied mistrial requests Monday at the trial of three white men charged with murdering Ahmaud Arbery in Brunswick, Georgia.

Defense lawyer Kevin Gough made an additional request to have the Rev. Jesse Jackson removed from court after an unsuccessful attempt to prevent “any more Black pastors” from attending the trial. Defense attorneys claimed that the presence of leaders such as Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton tainted the jury.
