Urban heat and climate change; "Hands On"; electric vehicles; Jacksonville Music Experience

The summer heat in Jacksonville is slowly approaching, and it’s only getting hotter. Urban heat, driven by climate change, is now classified as a public health threat. The city of Jacksonville and the University of North Florida are partnering on a new heat mapping study that officials hope will reveal which parts of town are most threatened by extreme heat.

Legendary Jacksonville civil rights attorney Bill Sheppard has died. He was 80. Sheppard was renowned for using the U.S. Constitution to fight civil rights injustices in Jacksonville and in Florida for nearly 50 years.
