Organizers of a community protest scheduled just before the swearing-in ceremony for three new Duval County School Board members Tuesday say they’re “setting expectations for an inclusive future.” The planned protest comes after a series of controversial social media posts by incoming School Board member Tony Ricardo criticizing DEI, the LGBTQ community and even former first lady Michelle Obama. The new board includes a majority of members endorsed by the conservative Moms for Liberty organization, as well as several endorsed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. Protest organizers join us to discuss the timing and goal of the event.
