The new Museum of Science & History will reflect what designers consider "one of Northeast Florida’s most powerful natural assets," namely the St. Johns River.

The Museum of Science & History recently announced plans to shutter its Southbank location in September as it awaits completion of its new home on the Northbank. The process is expected to take over two years, leaving many of the museum’s 30 employees out of a job. We talk to the museum’s CEO about preparing for the transition and how the shutdown will affect employees, the community and MOSH’s ongoing fundraising efforts.

Guest:

  • Alistair Dove, CEO at the Museum of Science & History.

Then, a new partnership between the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and local elder and disability advocacy groups aims to get ahead of missing persons cases before they occur. The Pepper Project helps caregivers collect scent kits from people with Alzheimer's, autism and dementia to be used by the program’s bloodhound, Pepper, in the event someone wanders off. We explain how it works and where to enroll.

Guests:

  • Linda Levin, CEO at ElderSource.

And, identity and self-worth are the themes of Alhambra’s latest stage offering as it follows the transformation of a working-class flower vendor into a “proper lady.” Hailed as "one of the best musicals of the century" by the New York Times, My Fair Lady kicks off May 15.

Guests:

  • Sofia Smith, actress playing Eliza Doolittle.
  • Gary Lee Webber, actor playing Professor Henry Higgins.
