An appeals court last week ordered “expunged” a critical grand jury report on Hope Florida that found the DeSantis administration misappropriated a $10 million Medicaid settlement. But what exactly does that mean for the findings of the grand jury? What could the governor’s call for "accountability" for the leaked report look like? And is this an example of the legal system working, or failing? We examine how the grand jury process works, what the grand jury concluded happened and who stands to benefit from this latest decision in a highly competitive election season.

Dying isles?
New research finds the seeming growth of Georgia’s signature marsh grasses is hiding a darker truth about the health of the Golden Isles. Coastal researchers have been literally digging into the littoral zone, examining core samples and measuring root systems. The findings aren’t great: 75% of Georgia's coastal marsh has been losing below-ground biomass, even when the surface level grass appears healthy and expanding. The findings have implications not just for the future of the iconic, golden-hued shoreline, but for a state already facing the steady creep of sea level rise. We talk to two researchers about what the combination of on-the-ground sampling and satellite data tells us about the future of Georgia’s eastern seashore and what can be done to help.
Guests:
- Kyle Runion, coastal ecologist and postdoctoral research associate, University of Georgia

Song and dance men
Music inspired by movement forms the foundation of an upcoming joint performance of the Jacksonville Symphony and the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus. From the sounds of Igor Stravinski’s breakthrough ballet Firebird to Leonard Bernstein’s animated Three Dance Variations from his 1944 hit ballet Fancy Free (originally choreographed by Jerome Robbins) to the choral and orchestral Polovetsian Dances from Alexander Borodin’s unfinished opera Prince Igor, the program offers an animated exploration of tempos and temporal signatures. The show features guest conductor Christopher Warren-Green, the principal conductor and music director of the London Chamber Orchestra.
Guests:
- Dr. Tony Thornton, director, Jacksonville Symphony Chorus
- Osvaldo "Ozzie" Medina, member, Jacksonville Symphony Chorus
- Jessica Bergstol, member, Jacksonville Symphony Chorus
London Calling
The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) clash with the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) this weekend for the teams’ first international game of the season. The Jags are 7-7 in London and coming off a close win over the Cincinnati Bengals, while the Eagles are looking for upward momentum after a hard loss to the Los Angeles Rams (a game in which injuries sidelined at least nine players). The last time the teams met in London, the Eagles came out on top 24-18. We recap the matchup with our Jaguars season correspondent. The Big Cats face the Birds at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
