Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian is expected to affect the Jacksonville area beginning late Wednesday, with the bulk of the storm sweeping through Thursday.

Duval, St. Johns, Nassau and Clay counties announced Tuesday that they will close this week. Baker and Putnam counties announced earlier that they would close.

Ian is expected to continue rapidly strengthening. Landfall possible from the Big Bend to Sun Coast during the middle to end of the week.
