If you’re headed to this weekend’s Mumford & Sons concert in St. Augustine, the wireless service providers in the area want you to know they’ve got you covered.

Some 25,000 people are expected to converge on the nation’s oldest city for the two-day music festival.

25,000 very excited people, says AT&T’s Rosie Montalvo.

“Yeah, social network is what everyone likes to do now. They want to share where they’re at and what they’re doing…and they want to do it instantly.”

Montalvo says AT&T will be monitoring the situation in real time, ready to bump up its wireless capacity if necessary.

Verizon Wireless is also ready for the crowds. Spokesperson Chuck Hamby says crews in Florida have cut their teeth on big events like the Super Bowl and the Daytona 500.

“They’ll go out there and make it so that folks who do need to upload that front-row picture of Mumford and Sons to their Facebook or tweet it—you know, hey, mom, I’m on the front row or whatever they’re doing, we want them to have a great experience doing it.”

That’s not to say the connection won’t ever get bogged down this weekend.

Both Montalvo and Hamby said that when it does, just take a deep breath and hit ‘send’ again. Your message will go through — eventually.

The Gentlemen of The Road festival's St. Augustine stopover is scheduled to begin Friday night and run through Saturday.
