A crash in Ortega this morning was the second involving a Duval County school bus in less than a week. Two students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a driver hit the side of their stopped bus just after 8:30.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the woman was trying to get around the bus and into a left-turn lane on Timuquana Road. The 44-year-old driver was charged with careless driving. Twelve students were on board at the time of the crash.

Last week, another bus full of middle-school students hit the front of a car while going through a Beach Boulevard intersection because a driver failed to stop behind the line at a red light.
