The five Democrats running to become Florida’s next governor stuck to their talking points and had no chance to clash in a low-key town hall Thursday in Jacksonville.

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam continues to dominate the fundraising field in the 2018 race for governor, reporting his campaign’s best monthly total of $2.28 million in March.

Ahead of this week’s One Spark festival we spoke with Board Chairman Peter Rummell and Florida Blue Market President Darnell Smith (31:38).

We talked to Bob Boyd, counsel for the Professional Education Network of Florida (PEN), about HB 7055 which was recently signed into law by Governor Rick Scott  (46:00).

Tallahassee Mayor and Democratic candidate for Florida Governor Andrew Gillum said his life and elected experience makes him the most qualified candidate running for the position.

Former North Florida Florida Congresswoman Gwen Graham is among the Democrats running for governor this year. She says for too long the state Legislature and Gov. Rick Scott have ignored the serious effects of climate change and rising seas.

Appearing Wednesday on WJCT’s First Coast Connect, Graham said the state needs to take take action against the problems the state is already facing and prepare for the future.
