FSCJ Scientist Questions Fla.'s COVID-19 Numbers; Return Of 'Folio'; Weekend Events

A Jacksonville-based data scientist says the way Florida presents COVID-19 data to the public is misleading, and he worries it’s being done deliberately to help support efforts to reopen the state.

Christopher Perle is a Professor of Biology at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Perle has been keeping a close eye on Florida’s COVID-19 dashboard since it first launched. He joined us to explain his concerns about the state data.

We looked at the events around town this weekend, including the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, which will reopen to the public in two phases, beginning with a free admission weekend on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21 to its outdoor gardens.

We also spoke with Artistic Director Jorge Pena about the St. Augustine Music Festival, which kicks off Thursday night as a virtual affair this year.
