City leaders are considering an increase in the local gas tax to pay for some much-needed infrastructure projects across the city.

But a new poll finds most voters don’t like the idea of more expensive gas. Mike Binder, head of UNF’s Public Opinion Research Lab, which conducted the poll, joined us to talk about these results and other findings, including the 2023 mayoral race.

Going Green

If you’re putting a lot of your trash into your recycling bin every week and wonder if it’s really getting recycled, it may not be.  How can we do a better job of recycling?  Jennie Romer, author of Can I Recycle This?, joined us with her thoughts on the subject and to talk about the book.

Lutheran Social Services

Second Pfizer vaccines and one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available free of charge today, May 18, at Lutheran Social Services. That’s not the only giveaway, either.  Bill Brim, the organization’s President and CEO, joined us to explain.

Job Fair

A huge virtual job fair will be taking place May 19.  Melissa Terbrueggen, Regional Director at CareerSource Northeast Florida, which is running the event, shared details on the event with us.
