Jacksonville’s mayoral race is off and running with four candidates now filed to challenge incumbent Democrat Alvin Brown, who is of course seeking re-election.Last week we welcomed Jacksonville City Councilman Bill Bishop to talk about his campaign. This morning we turn to the other prominent local Republican in the race — former GOP state party chair Lenny Curry — who says he’ll focus on budget issues and economic development.
Curry has the financial backing of prominent Republican fundraiser and city business leader Peter Rummell, who has switched his allegiance from Mayor Brown to the Curry campaign. The move is seen by many as being positioned to give Mayor Brown — literally — a run for his money.
Lenny Curry joined Melissa Ross in studio with more on his race for mayor.
