Jacksonville University announced Sunday that a student has tested positive for COVID-19.

The graduate student lives off campus and hasn’t been on university grounds since March 21.

In an email, a JU spokeswoman told WJCT News that the student has been isolated off campus for the past two weeks.

"This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 impacting a member of our campus community," wrote Laura Phelps, JU's Sr. Director of Media and Public Relations.

The university has reached out to people who were in contact with the student and is coordinating with the Department of Health.
