First Coast YMCA

As many businesses open back up around the state, gyms - including the YMCA - remain closed for the time being. But, they are making plans for allowing people back in.

In the meantime, the organization is also offering emergency childcare and giving support to seniors in this pandemic. We discussed the Y's current situation and plans for reopening in the future with Eric Mann, President of the First Coast YMCA.

Midweek Meditation

First Coast Yoga and Meditation Teacher Dan Nevins led us in a midweek meditation exercise.

Art Ventures

Art Ventures began in 1990 as a commitment to invest in local individual artists as well as small arts organizations— and has since granted more than $1.3 million to more than 200 artists and 125 small arts organizations.

This month, the organization is celebrating 30 years of supporting the arts on the First Coast by honoring 18 local artists with Art Ventures grants of $3500 dollars each. Amy Crane, Senior Program Director with the Community Foundation of Northeast Florida joined us with more.
