Al shares his reflections on returning to his hometown amid heightened racial tensions, navigating the challenges of loving a place that may not love you back. The episode goes further to explore the historical and political landscape of the Sunshine State for Black individuals, with a look on the tragic events of Aug. 26, 2023 — the murders of three Black people at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville.

Vida Guitar 

Tomorrow evening, the British ensemble Vida Guitar Quartet will be hosted by the Beaches Fine Art Series at St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church.
