Chief U.S. District Judge Tim Corrigan

Will Brown

With his four-year term as chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida coming to a close, we ask Judge Tim Corrigan about his years on the bench, surviving an assassination attempt and playing a bit part in the Netflix movie The Legend of Cocaine Island. He also has a warning for residents about an aggressive jury scam affecting federal courts nationwide.

Guest:

  • Chief U.S. District Judge Tim Corrigan.

Then, between boat collisions and plastic pollution, the threats to the critically endangered right whales continue to grow. We talk to species champions about efforts to protect them ahead of the annual right whale festival on Amelia Island.

Guests:

  • Barb Zoodsma, former NOAA large whale recovery coordinator for the Southeast U.S.
  • Greg Reilly, Southeast marine campaigner for the International Fund for Animal Welfare and USCG, Retired.
  • Dr. Emme Devonish, author, consultant and member of the Amelia Island Whale Ambassadors.

Plus, ahead of Halloween, we learn about the “ghostly” diffuse dust and gas clouds haunting outer space, including the Witch Head nebula, which contains the profile of a witch etched into the bright border of the cloud.
