President Trump’s administration has given federal workers until this Thursday to accept the buyout.

Federal workers face a resignation deadline Thursday amid the threat of potential layoffs. An email titled "Fork in the Road" was sent to some 2 million federal workers, and those employees must resign voluntarily by Thursday in exchange for continued pay and benefits through Sept. 30. We ask a labor and employment attorney about what federal workers need to know when making their decision. He also takes your questions at (904) 549-2937 or firstcoastconnect@wjct.org.

Guest:

  • Tad Delegal, labor and employment law attorney.

Then, JASMYN, Northeast Florida’s only LGBTQIA+ youth resource center, enters a new chapter. We talk to the new CEO about stepping into the role after the retirement of founding CEO Cindy Watson, who led the organization for three decades. We also discuss what it means to run the nonprofit at a time of growing legal, political and cultural backlash.

Guest:

  • Francisco Castro, chief executive officer at JASMYN.

And, duking it out for a good cause. The St. Johns County sheriff and his wife share details of a first responder fundraiser to benefit children of all abilities in the fast-growing county. The St. Johns County Fight Night: First Responders Boxing for Charity event happens Feb. 13 at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. Proceeds benefit the Diamond of Dreams Field and the St. Johns Police Athletic League.

Guests:

  • Robert A. Hardwick, St. Johns County sheriff.
  • Kendell Hardwick, coordinator, Diamond of Dreams.
