Jaguars To Apply New NFL Bag Policy Starting Friday

Kevin Meerschaert/WJCT

The NFL is implementing a new bag policy at stadiums across the league including EverBank Field.

Fans will only be allowed to bring in clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12"x6"x12".

One gallon clear plastic freezer bags are permitted, as are small clutch bags.

Jaguars President Mark Lamping says fans coming to the team's first pre-season exhibition game on Friday night should plan to to arrive early since the changes may cause some delays while entering the stadium.

Lamping says check-in should speed up once fans get used to the new rules because security will no longer need to search bags.

"We agree with the league's efforts to make sure the game day experience is safe and as convenient as possible" Lamping said. "This policy will expedite fans' entrance into the stadium on game day while maintaining the security and safety for everyone."

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says traffic patterns on game days will not change from last year. JSO Chief Robert Connor says fans should enter downtown on the bridge closest to their parking location. Those parking on the west side of the stadium should take the Main Street Bridge or Acosta Bridge.
