While most of the crashes inside EverBank Field this weekend will be intentional, major traffic is expected in downtown Jacksonville on Saturday as the Auto Parts Monster Truck Jam gets underway.The Jacksonville Sheriffs' Office has advised fans to try and arrive three hours early and cross the bridge into downtown that is closest to their parking space.
Officials say congestion is going to be very heavy from approximately 5 to 7:30 p.m. No parking will be allowed on Bay Street starting at 9 a.m.
At 3 p.m. Bay Street will have three lanes open for those traveling eastbound and one lane open for those traveling westbound. Anyone dropping off or picking up fans should do so at Georgia Street between Adams St. and Duval St. behind the baseball grounds on the stadium’s Westside.
At approximately 9 p.m. Gator Bowl Blvd. at Festive Way will become one-way northbound. Also at 9 p.m., Bay Street/Gator Bowl Blvd. starting at Lot “J” exit will become one-way westbound.
There will be one-way traffic patterns away from the complex after the event for 45-minutes to one hour.
Those planning on picking up fans after the event should park at the aforementioned zone on Georgia St. before 8:45 p.m. Taxi drop-off and pick-up will be located at the north end of the stadium near gate 3.
The Monster Jam event will feature "Grave Digger" driven by Carl Van Horn, "Madusa," "Max-D" driven by Tom Meents, "Monster Mutt Dalmatian" driven by Candice Jolly, and "Captain America" driven by Chad Fortune, among others.
