WJCT Studios is playing host to some community-created local theater that also functions as social activism. The award-winning Coming Out Monologues features real people in North Florida taking the stage to tell their stories of coming out, falling in and out of love, and starting a family.

All the narratives are within the context of LGBT lives and experiences.

"Sharing my story is a little scary, but I think there's power in doing it," said cast member Travis Wilbanks.

WJCT is hosting this year’s production of Coming Out Monologues this weekend, July 27 and 28. All of the proceeds go to local nonprofits JASMYN and PFLAG.
