Douglas Anderson School opened in 1922.

We talked to the visionaries behind the new vocal program in the Duval school district, headquartered at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, the district’s premier arts school. It’s a dedicated initiative designed to guide aspiring young vocalists toward a musical future.

FSCJ history

Tim Gilmore, a respected Jacksonville author, educator and creator of the Jax Psycho Geo website, explained Mildred Barnert's protest after she was fired without explanation at Florida State College at Jacksonville in the late '60s.
