A Leon County circuit judge has ruled that the Florida Legislature illegally redrew the state's congressional districts to primarily benefit the Republican Party.
Circuit Judge Terry Lewis ruled Thursday that the Republican-controlled Legislature broke the law when it drew the maps in 2012.

In particular Lewis cited local Congresswoman Corrine Brown’s District 5, which is notorious as one of the most gerrymandered in the nation.

Brown told News4Jax that she plans to fight the ruling. The decision is expected to be appealed.

Joining us on our regular Friday media roundtable to discuss this and other stories is our panel of local journalists:

Additional topics include the money raised by mayoral candidate Lenny Curry's campaign in June, JTA's plan to bring a bike sharing program to Jacksonville, and the opening of Trader Joe's first store on the First Coast.
