After 42 years on local airwaves, Jacksonville broadcast legend Ken Amaro is retiring at the end of the month after a long career as a consumer reporter at First Coast News. Amaro is well-known and well-loved as a defender of the little guy. He’s also famed for his trademark bow ties.
On Wednesday, his station will celebrate Ken Amaro Day, when they will air stories and tributes to his broadcast career. But before he hangs up his mic, Amaro has some thoughts about his life in TV news.
