From reviving pensions to securing firefighter pay raises, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Chief Keith Powers has had a banner year. But he’s also experienced the stress that comes with leading more than 1,800 employees who are often doing very dangerous work. He sits down with guest host Dan Scanlan to discuss what’s new in his department and reflect on his two decades with the agency.

Then, historian, educator and JaxPsychoGeo blogger Tim Gilmore shares the true story behind the architecturally significant Bobby Jacobs house (and the murder that stains its memory).

And, Alisa Pollard Seymore is a business owner who works with at-risk girls on the city’s Eastside to try to empower them and enrich their daily lives. She is founder and president of the nonprofit Princess & Co.
